I can’t believe that we are already at half term; the last seven weeks have flown by!
Our Geography students have all taken part in their compulsory exam field trip these last two weeks and have really done themselves, and us, proud. This is an essential part of their GCSE and it is really encouraging to have seen such a positive and diligent work ethic from them.
On the subject of exams, this week has seen our year 11 and 13 Drama students take part in their performance exams; both of which have been really successful with some stunning performances.
We had a visit this week from the Navy Careers team who ran a ‘Ready, Steady; Cook’ event, hosted by our Technology department. All staff and students involved found it to be a really great experience.
In sport, our U14 netball team won the South Devon competition and now move into the Devon tournament – well done to them! We’re also really pleased to confirm that we have entered three teams into Ten Tors, which after a two-year hiatus is very exciting.
Thank you for the support with picking up and dropping off your child/ren away from the area outside of college, therefore making it much safer for all our students who walk to college. We have seen a reduction in the number of cars that are dropping off in immediate vicinity which is much appreciated.
Thank you to those parents & carers who attended our Parent Forum, on Monday; it was a really positive and informative evening. Thank you for giving up your time.
Please can we ask that you make sure your child/ren are well prepared with winter coats after half term as no doubt the weather will be wetter and colder more frequently.
We wish you a very enjoyable half term and look forward to sharing more weekly news with you when we come back on Monday 30th October which is a Week B. Students need to be at college for 8:25am for lesson 01.
Take care,
Mrs Grashoff,
Headteacher
