Newton Abbot College’s Sixth Form offers students a Level 3 programme comprising mainly academic and applied qualifications. Students who do not hold a grade 4 in maths and/or English will be directed towards our Strong Foundations Programme.

Our study programmes also include work experience and non-qualification activities which complement the other elements of the programme and support students to progress onto further or higher education or to employment as well as developing their character, skills, attitudes and confidence.

Students in our sixth form are expected to take part in some/all of the following activities that provide them with these essential “soft skills”:

  • Weekly enrichment
  • Studying for the EPQ
  • Personal Development lessons
  • Year 12 work experience
  • Reading programme
  • CEIAG events and visits
  • College community
  • Student council

A Levels and BTECs

Students choose three courses in Year 12 and continue all of them in Year 13.
