Student Rewards

Students are encouraged to recognise that the greatest reward for hard work at college is the success it brings in examinations and in life. Normal college expectations not only equip students with the good learning habits necessary to reach their full academic potential but also the soft skills (attendance, punctuality, presentation, leadership and team-working etc) required by employers, universities, and colleges which will help students be successful in their chosen pathways after they leave us.

ClassCharts
All praise points are recorded on ClassCharts so that students can see their running total of points and how much they have to spend. Teachers will record ClassCharts praise points as close as possible to the moment the praiseworthy behaviour happened. ClassCharts points can be spent by students on a variety of prizes, such as Year 11 Prom tickets; jump the queue cards, stationary or water bottle – all of which are available in the Class Charts shop.

Praise points are awarded to students for displaying our college values:

Courage Perseverance
Hard work Achievement
Kindness Respect
Pride Aspiration

Specific awards
On a weekly basis, students can be awarded Excellent Week, Excellent Punctuality Week and Tutee of the Week awards.

There are also a variety of special awards presented at different times during the year, such as the Headteacher’s Student of the Month award, termly Head of Learning Awards, termly Headteacher’s Commendation Certificates, Team of the Term awards and tri-annual subject achievement awards.

The college also hosts prestigious annual Sports and Arts award events.
Students can also be awarded leadership awards at three levels: bronze, silver and gold.

At Sixth form students work towards their ‘Medallion Award’ which has three levels: bronze, silver and gold awards.
