We have had another very busy week at Newton Abbot College, full of student achievements.
In sport, our year 11 rugby team secured a very convincing win in the Devon cup and our year 10 team reached the semi-finals of the central venue competition. Amazing results and a big well done to both teams.
Elsewhere, Year 11 Music students performed brilliantly in their music exams – a huge well done to them – showing a really mature and diligent approach to their studies.
Our prefects delivered a superb assembly on mental health this week that they had written themselves, along with producing a welfare leaflet for students. Top work from all involved and we’re very proud of them.
We really hope you enjoyed last week’s sunny weather, however, this week it seems winter is now upon us and it’s that time of year to start layering up! Please remember to ensure your child brings a coat. If you need guidance on what is acceptable as part of the college uniform, there is information on our website here
Finally, you’ll have seen our message regarding parking, picking up and dropping off students at Newton Abbot College. In addition to our need for your support in addressing this and maximising the safety of our students and local residents, please be reminded that the speed limit on Abbotsbury Road is 20mph. This is due to the school area being of significantly high risk. We also ask that you do not overtake any vehicles on this road – often we see cars overtaking other cars which takes them to the wrong side of the road and further endangers our students. Thank you for your understanding and assistance.
Have a lovely weekend and take care,
Mrs Grashoff
Headteacher
