Please find below an update of events that have happened at Newton Abbot College this week.
Thank you for those that attended our Year 10 support evening and the positive feedback. We hope it was useful and will be impactful.
We have had language and drama students taking their mock exams this week that will put them in a great place for their final assessments.
We have had several successful Sports fixtures this week with U16 and U15 netball fixtures taking place. Our year 7 rugby team had their 2nd rugby fixture away at Paignton that they won. Our year 10 football team are also off today on their first national cup match – we will update you with the result next week.
Tutors have been celebrating the enrichment clubs with their tutees that they are attending, it is great to see the numbers growing. It has also been anti bullying week in assemblies and students have been reminded of the importance of letting people know any concerns they have. This can be to anyone and often they will speak to people at home about their concern, so please share these with us so that we can support.
We have had two open morning tours each day this week and it has been fantastic watching our students working so hard in all of their lessons. The prospective parents have been full of praise for what they have seen.
Thank you to all parents that have signed up to and are using classcharts, school gateway and parent pay, if anyone requires help with logging in to any of these systems, please contact the college.
The year 7 residential to Bude was a huge success with staff at the centre overwhelmed by our students’ efforts and behaviours. Staff and students returned home feeling very tired but after a brilliant time.
Take care,
Mrs Grashoff,
Headteacher
