At Newton Abbot College, we offer a wide range of peripateticinstrumental lessons that enable students to develop their technical and practical skills in a highly personalised way. Our specialist teachersdeliver individual and small group lessons in several instrumental areas.  For students taking GCSE Music, these lessons are strongly recommended as an enhancement to their timetabled music lessons. Our teachers can also offer trial lessons, allowing students to see if their chosen instrument is right for them.

We currently offer lessons in:

Flute
Brass
Violin
Piano
Voice
Guitar
Drums

The booking and tracking progress process is as follows:

• Parents enrol for lessons via the Music Department booking form
• Peripatetic staff make contact with students and parents to organise lessons; parents will be invoiced directly
• Newton Abbot College tracks students’ attendance and progress
• Different lesson types are available: Individual 20 and 30-minutes, paired and group 30-minutes (subject to suitable pairing/grouping available).
• Our peripatetic teachers have regular lesson drop ins and receive ongoing guidance to help develop their teaching and learning

To commence lessons, students should speak to the Music Department and collect a leaflet from Mr Simm or Mr Bottomley, who both can offer more details and can provide a short sign-up form for completion.
